Overview
Making our customers look (fashionably) good is what we do best. Through our various brands, the Foschini Groups sells clothing, jewellery, accessories, cosmetics, sporting and outdoor apparel and equipment and homeware that is fashionable and current. But fashion by its nature comes and goes and looking good is not enough, you have to feel good too. Best achieved by doing good.
Through our CSI project programme, we aim to do this for the benefit of our beneficiaries who come from the communities in which we trade in.
Our projects fall into four main focus areas that include Education, Skills Development, HIV/AIDS and Arts/Culture and Environment with an additional category for Special Projects.
We are involved in over 50 projects in total and have chosen to highlight eight.
Those featured here include literacy and numeracy initiatives amongst primary school learners in rural schools as well as a Saturday School in science and maths education. All essential to the future of our country. Skills Development plays a key role in reducing unemployment so it gives us great pride to be able to support organisations such as Learn to Earn and the WHEAT Trust in the pursuit of this goal. Both organisations do sterling work in this area. HIV/AIDS is one or the most daunting challenges that faces South Africa and businesses everywhere. It is both a duty and a moral obligation to support work in this area. We do so both from a CSI project point of view and have a separate support programme for all our staff. All of the above is only possible if we have a sound environment and a sense of culture, so supporting organisations such as WWF and ZAMA Dance School brings us full circle and makes our approach so much more holistic. Special Projects are just that special and gives us room to provide volunteer opportunities for our staff and opportunities to get involved in Group projects which are close to our heart which we gladly wear on our fashionable sleeve.
